8 day trek to peaks at Baker at 4842m
Enjoy amazingly fantastic hike to the hard rock to Bakers peak at 4842m. The trek doesn’t require technical skills but ropes plus harnesses are used mainly for hikers safety reasons. A hike to Baker’s peak lets you enjoy the jaw-dropping views of Margherita, Alexandra peaks and generally, the Rwenzori Mountain range. However, you need to be physically fit to make a complete trek to the summits of Mount Baker.
6 days trek- Weismanns peak at 4620m
The trek to Weismanns peak can be strenuous as it takes you through the steep slopes though it doesn’t require you to have ropes. It is a non technical trek and from April to May and September to October, the area experiences snowfall on the peak making it extremely stunning with beautiful plants. There is also an option of hiking Bwamwajara pass and this offers easier hikes and at 4450m, you enjoy incredible view of the major peaks.
From one to five day treks, visitors can explore the lush montane forests, bamboo and when hiking above 3000m, expect to see the high cliffs over viewing the valley, giant heathers all covered by mosses etc.
Day one trek-forest walk
One day trek mainly takes you on a forest walk, leading you via Munyamubuli River. Expect to explore one of the world’s most spectacular forests, scenic trees tower above the thick undergrowth while your guide will be explaining more about the unique plants and tree species.
2 day trek camp at Samalira 3140m
2 day trek may include spending a night at Samalira camp and in the morning, you go hike Kyalavula, enjoy incredible views of Lake George & Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Kyalavula loop-3 day trek
Explore more about Kyalavula loop for 3 days taking you via the lush rain-forest along Munyamubuli Valley and navigate through the densely forested ridge. Here expect to meet primates like blue monkeys, l’hoest monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys. Besides, expect to have the best of Rwenzori foothill and Kasese town views at 2160m.
Other treks include hike through Sine or Kalalama camps to Mutinda camp. From Mutinda camp, hike to Mutinda lookout 3975m and return through Samalira camp. Five day trek takes hikers along Mutinda loop to explore either Sine or Kalalama camps. Areas of interest on five day trek along Mutinda loop 3975m include Namusangi Valley, Lake Nsuranga and Kiharo camp. Note, for excellent treks, ropes and harnesses plus carabinas, crampons are required and you can be provided at a free cost or come along with yours.
